Added ability to
store tag art as either JPG or PNG format.
Fixed for good (I hope!) an
ID3v2 tag art bug.
Just a quick update this time.
Wanted to get a clean ID3v2 tag version out!
Still taking CDDB² beta
testers.
CDDB² support is
mostly in. We are only allowed to have a
max of 100 beta testers
until the final release of Zlurp!
If you want to help
test CDDB², send a request to:
hatman@hatman.com
or select CDDB²
as the CD Info Source on the General Settings
page to register as
a CDDB² beta tester! THANKS!

BLAZING SPEED! Try
using the new GOGO-no-coda v2.30. You will be amazed!
Much improvement of
the WAV to Encode feature. Had some bugs
to squash.
Concentrated on improving
getting CD info.
In the regular release there
are now 2 sources to get CD info
- The original CDDB, and freeDB.org.
You can also automatically check the other source if the disc wasn't found.
CD Info Submit is implemented.
Now you can fix that annoying typo from CDDB!
* Blade dll support (version
0.91)
* GOGO-no-code dll support
(version 2.30)
* LAME dll support (version
3.70)
* LAME dll support (version
3.80alpha)
* Certified FREEDB.ORG CDDB(TM)
Compatible
* Certified Escient ®

Finally fix that nasty "THEME" bug.
We have forced a FIXED font in the tool bar. No more check boxes running
amuck!
-
Add GOGO coder DLL, this is the first
pass. So you need to RIP and ENCODE. But you will see it is extremely fast!
-
We now display the DLL versions in the
MAIN screen.
-
Support for BLADE .91
-
Support for L.A.M.E. 3.60 - Remember
to turn on DOWNLOAD newest version at startup and ZLURP! will do it automatically.
-
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE
TO SEE ADDED TO ZLURP!? E-mail me: hatman@hatman.com

Caught a couple of BUGS. Encoding to
MP3 from WAV gave you a error dialog box.
-
Napster users were not seeing their
MP3's. Seems Napster is not supporting ID3v2. Please e-mail them and request
that they add this feature. ID3v2 is very good and needs to be supported!
-
Working on adding GOGO coder DLL. You're
going to like this! ON MY P2-400 I was getting encoding speed of up to
x22

-
Pretty cover art!
-
Added ability to turn off album display
for slower machines. The art will still be saved if desired, but
things won't s l o w d o w n!
-
Back by popular demand...the minimize
button.
-
Reorganized the output folders.
The WAV and ENCODED folders are now both placed inside the new OUTPUT folder.
-
Install creates a shortcut on the desktop
to the OUTPUT folder...following AKRIP's lead on this one.
-
Can now automatically create a Winamp
playlist for each ripped/encoded disc. Look for the checkbox on the WAV/MP3/ENC
settings.
-
Made it easier to choose which ID3 tagging
you prefer. Just check or uncheck the boxes on the toolbar.
-
First pass at the ever useful Help file
is in.
-
Added a few (hopefully) useful things
to the help menu - instant access to the readme file, and the Zlurp! home
page.

Pretty cover art!
-
If you enable CD Now as the EXTended
data source, Zlurp! will attempt to download cover art that can be saved
and/or used in the ID3v2 tag.
-
Speaking of ID3v2 tags...Have added
a few new fields, mainly the album cover art. Have forced my tags
to be version 2.2 even though I have v2.3 capability because there isn't
anything out that will read v2.3 yet! The best ID3v2 tag editor we
have found so far is ID3v2 Tag Editor beta 4.
-
Download it at http://www.audioxl.com/id3v2/.
E-mail James Webb to beg him to work on it again!
-
Bug WINAMP http://www.winamp.com also
to support ID3v2 tags!

Found a new encoder.
GOGO-no-coder mp3 encoder which
is based on LAME ver 3.29beta and optimized by PEN@MarineCat, Keiichi SAKAI,
URURI, kei and shigeo.
GOGO-no-coder mp3 encoder is x2 as
LAME.
Why is
it twice as fast you ask?
GOGO makes
use of MMX, (Enhanced) 3D Now! and SSE if your system supports these units.

Have a check in for when CDDB is
down, will automatically switch CDDB servers.
-
Download works with genre.ini, label.ini,
and lame.dll. You will only download a file if a new version exists
on the server. Don't have a merge in yet - currently will overwrite
your file. (mainly important for the label.ini if you have entered
your own new labels!)
-
Sick Zlurp!
programmer + Webnoize convention = not a substantial amount of new stuff
added this time!
In the works
-
Album art display when you enable EXTended
info. This will also automatically get your art to save in the ID3v2
tag.

Some major
reworking of ZLURP! has been going on. Read for yourself!...
-
Normalization
has been added. All normalization is on-the-fly.
-
Windows Media
Audio (WMA) can encode on-the-fly and from a WAV.
-
ID3v2 Tagging,
first pass is now in. Just a micro tag for now!
-
The External Encoder
support has been redone to add more flexibility. Any command line configuration
will work now. (If you find one that DOESN'T, please yell at us so we can
add it!)
-
Auto insert notification
is now being intercepted. You won't have to keep killing your CD player
every time you insert a new disc.
-
You can now add
your own labels to the label list. Enter all the obscure Indies you want!
Version Alpha

MAC Version is
now being worked on. Also looking at porting to Linux and BeOS.

install the required DLL's for the encoder to work.

Zlurp! version
of the LAME DLL. From this build on, you will need to use the Zlurp!
version of the LAME DLL, named LAMEenc.dll. It can be downloaded
from www.zlurp.com. This is to ensure that there will always be a compatible
version of LAME for Zlurp!

Been a looong
day! Will have Beta 1.04 ready any minute now.
-
WAV Encoding,
first pass, made it in. Currently, you have to encode one file at a time.
-
Batch encoding
will be available very soon. The only problem was that Blade and LAME were
not being very friendly, so you must use Xing, or an External Encoder.
